Naturopathic Care
Men's Hormonal Health
Your hormones matter too. And no, it is not just about testosterone.

The opening conversation
Men's health does not get nearly enough attention in the naturopathic world, and that is something I want to change. If you are a man who is tired all the time, struggling with sleep, dealing with digestive issues, carrying weight you cannot shift, or just not feeling like yourself, there is almost always a physiological reason. And it is almost always addressable.
The conventional system tends to dismiss these concerns in men the same way it dismisses them in women. You get told your labs are normal, you are advised to sleep more and stress less, and you leave without a real answer. Naturopathic care does something different. We actually look for the root cause.

How I approach
Men's Hormonal Health

Using the Hormone Cornerstone Method I assess men's health through the same comprehensive framework I use with every patient. Hormones do not exist in isolation. Testosterone interacts with cortisol, thyroid hormone, insulin, and gut health in ways that affect energy, mood, body composition, and overall resilience. When one system is off, the ripple effects show up everywhere.
Through a thorough assessment and targeted blood work including testosterone, DHEA, thyroid markers, insulin, and nutrient levels, I identify the specific drivers behind your symptoms and build a personalized, manageable plan. Treatment may include dietary and lifestyle strategies, targeted supplementation, stress and nervous system support, and where appropriate, hormonal support.

What we might explore together
The full picture
Every patient's story is different but here's where we'll likely look:
Testosterone and sex hormone levels, cortisol patterns and adrenal function, thyroid health, insulin resistance and metabolic markers, nutrient deficiencies including vitamin D, zinc, magnesium, and iron, sleep quality and what is driving poor recovery, gut health and its connection to hormone metabolism, and lifestyle factors including exercise, nutrition, and stress that directly affect hormonal balance.

No referral is needed. You can book directly through the online booking system at doctormargotnd.com/booking.
Yes. Virtual naturopathic care is available to any resident of Ontario via secure video or phone, which makes it easy to get started without coming into the clinic.
I work with men regularly and the concerns I see, fatigue, poor sleep, digestive issues, weight changes, low mood, and hormonal imbalances, are just as common and just as addressable in men as in women. The Hormone Cornerstone Method applies equally regardless of gender. Hormones affect everyone.
Yes. The gut plays a direct role in hormone metabolism, nutrient absorption, and inflammation levels, all of which affect hormonal balance. Digestive concerns like bloating, constipation, and IBS are often connected to the same hormonal and nutritional drivers causing fatigue, mood changes, and metabolic concerns in men.
Symptoms of low testosterone include fatigue, low libido, reduced motivation, difficulty building or maintaining muscle, increased body fat particularly around the abdomen, brain fog, and mood changes. Standard blood work often only checks total testosterone, which can miss the full picture. I assess free testosterone, DHEA, and other relevant markers to get a complete understanding of where you are at.
Absolutely. Sleep, nutrition, stress management, exercise type and frequency, and body composition all have a direct and measurable effect on testosterone production. In many cases meaningful improvements in testosterone and overall hormonal health are achievable through targeted lifestyle and supplementation strategies before considering any hormonal treatment.
Yes. Naturopathic care is not covered by OHIP but many extended health benefit plans include coverage for naturopathic visits regardless of gender. I offer direct billing to most insurance companies.
